Ben Schrader has been awarded the Copyright Licensing New Zealand Writers’ Award for his next good book on New Zealand cities. His Big Smoke: New Zealand Cities 1840-1920 (BWB, 2016) was shortlisted for the General Non-Fiction category of the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards 2017.
